Our group is interested in the development of novel immune therapy strategies for the treatment and prevention of cancer. Our current activities are focused on MSI colorectal cancer and HPV-induced cancerHPV-assoziierte Tumoren. Based on our research on the pathogenesis of these tumor types, we have initiated two clinical first-in-human trials (FSP vaccine, p16INK4a vaccine) that successfully evaluated vaccines directed against promising novel tumor antigens.
A further central focus of our research is dedicated to the identification of mechanisms responsible for tumor immune evasion and immuno-editing.
