An important pillar of clinical research are therapy optimization trials. During these controlled trials, new treatment methods or combination therapies are being evaluated and/or compared to current standards. Under certain circumstances, established methods can also be evaluated in clinical trials, while taking into account new aspects of research.
The Hospital for Radiooncology and Radiation Therapy participates in a number of multicenter trials and is currently conducting some clinical (single- and multicenter) trials of its own.
These trials can be classified as organ-based clinical trials (such as malignant brain tumors, neck, nose and ear tumors, lung tumors, pancreatic, rectal and prostate carcinoma, sarcoma and lymphoma) and technology-based clinical trials.
