TP3 Studies on adaptive therapy planning for prostate carcinoma and chordoma

In this project we focus on:

  • Studies to evaluate hypo-fractionated ion beam therapy in pelvic tumors with low α/β Establishing methods of plan adaptation for dominating inter-fractional organ movement (prostate, IPI-study) based on CT imaging
  • Clinical Implementation of the results above during application of ion boost in prostate carcinoma patients (IPI-study)
  • Development of methods for therapy planning and plan adaptation based on MRT- imaging only (prostate cancer)
  • Development of methods for plan adaptation for inter-fractional changes  of irradiation geometry (due to patient positioning) of sacral chordoma based on repeated CT- and MR- imaging
