Valérie R. Louis, M.Sc., Ph.D. (University of Maryland, College Park, USA) is a research associate in the Institute of Global Health, which she joined in 2004. She has a particular interest in topics that link health and the environment. While in Heidelberg, her research has focused on the control of infectious diseases, such as malaria and dengue. She teaches extensively on the topic of climate change and health. She has experience in field surveys, management of large datasets, statistics analysis, and geographic information systems (GIS). She enjoys working in intercultural contexts.
