Vipul Sharma joined the Research Group in Health Economics and Health Financing as a scientific staff member in July 2018. His research interests concentrate on understanding the various aspects of global healthcare system. At present, he is working on economic evaluation of a screening program for heart and vascular diseases at Universitätsklinikum, Heidelberg, Germany.
Vipul has an academic background in biotechnology, business studies and economics. Following his career goals, he acquired professional work experience in different public-private firms in India, United Kingdom and Germany respectively.
At present, he is associated with a global CRO in remote monitoring of phase II-IV clinical research studies. Prior to the current employment, he worked in a strategic market access division of a health economics consultancy firm and was responsible for developing a comprehensive competitive overview of German HEOR companies.
He also gained valuable work experience in venture capital market, by working for a biotechnology venture capital division of a German conglomerate firm. In India, Vipul was employed with an industry body and assisted in facilitating communication amongst the public-private healthcare organisations. During his stay in the United Kingdom, he academically supported the university students with special needs, those enrolled in business studies and natural sciences degrees..
