Aktion für krebskranke Kinder e.V. Ortverband Heidelberg

In 1982, Gabriele Geib initiated the founding of Opens external link in new windowDeutschen Leukämie Forschungshilfe (DLFH) - Aktion für krebskranke Kinder e.V. - Ortsverband Heidelberg an association of parents whose children have cancer. Since then, the association has raised a great deal of money – through large and small donations – to finance projects in our hospital for the benefit of our young patients, their parents and siblings. The volunteers of the association work tirelessly to improve the situation in the pediatric cancer ward, support the parents of ill children, ensure an optimal follow-up care, run the "Kinderplanet" day care facility for siblings of patients and support cancer research.

COURAGE

The COURAGE initiative for chronically ill children was founded in 2002 by Prof. Dr. Georg Hoffmann and Prof. Dr. Andreas Kulozik. The initiative wants to improve the life quality of children and adolescents with chronic illnesses, help them rediscover their joy of life and support them and their families in dealing with their difficult situation. The additional services required to this end are not financed sufficiently by our health care system and must be funded through donations. Our current projects aim at improving the children’s interaction with others and their psychosocial environment.

THANK YOU!

We'd like to thank all major sponsors described on this page, but also the numerous individual donors without whom our work would not be possible!
