C01: Targets and mediators of IL-17 pathology in mouse models of psoriasis

C01 will focus on the role of IL-17 and its downstream mechanisms in mouse models of psoriasis. The group has developed a transgenic mouse that over-expresses IL-17 in the epidermis and presents with a psoriasis-like phenotype. In another induced psoriasis model, the group observed also in the absence of IL-17-receptor marked inflammation. It will be the goal to define how IL-17 acts in skin disease and to investigate the contribution of factors other than IL-17 to inflammatory skin reactions.
