Abstract:

One important aspect of eHealth is the possibility to exchange electronic health records (EHR) or at least parts of EHR. openEHR is a two-level modelling approach for EHR with the aim to enable semantic interoperability among archetype-based information systems in health care. Archetypes are flexible models representing clinical concepts and defining the information that should be record and exchanged. In the project ValEHRia we validate the applicability of openEHR in Germany. We have developed a process model for mapping clinical datasets on archetypes. Currently we develop an archetype-based clinical trial data management system to enable multipurpose use of clinical care data in clinical trials. Additionally, we examine the usability of openEHR for modeling different views on data in EHR.
