Procedures to prevent mother and infant mortality in third world countries

Abstract:
The millennium goals concerning mother and infant mortality have been reached in few developing countries only. We find various reasons, besides cultural roadblocks and actual shortage of resources also insufficiently coordinated utilization of resources. We plan to address that problem in a project in Uganda: through a closed loop of information flow including hospital information about births and vaccinations, pharmacy stock/inventory  management, SMS notification of mothers about due vaccinations and charting of vaccinations given we plan to increase the rate of complete vaccination histories in the population.
