Olaf is Director of Teaching and is at HIGH therefore more involved in Teaching/Capacity Development projects, both in Heidelberg and internationally. This work underlines the link of research at HIGH to Development Cooperation, and training of professionals working in Development Cooperation, related to health.
Olaf's research interest is particularly related to research and practice. He 1) leads a group on systematic reviews and meta-analysis. 2) Furthermore, as the coordinator of the WHO guidelines for dengue fever, he has worked and is working extensively to determine what works in dengue and Aedes vector control. Further to his scientific publications, 3) Olaf has coordinated or contributed to several guidelines, policies, reports in different fields of health globally.
