Accident at work / commuting accident & D doctor
D-Arzt / Accidents at work at the University Hospital
Every accident at work / every injury should always be documented in the first-aid book . After an accident at work (including commuting accidents), it is always necessary to consult a D-Arzt / accident insurance consultant if
- the accident injury leads to incapacity for work beyond the day of the accident (> 3 days)
- the necessary medical treatment is expected to last more than one week,
- remedies and aids are to be prescribed,
- there is a recurrence of illness due to the consequences of the accident.
Accidents at work are treated around the clock in the General and Emergency Outpatient Department of the Surgical Clinic. The Surgical Outpatient Clinic, as a designated D-physician outpatient clinic within the Trauma Centre Kurpfalz, provides further care after accidents at work on behalf of the accident insurers, taking into account the particularities of insurance law. All accidents at work can be treated, regardless of the severity of the injury.
