Heidelberg University Hospital again among the World’sBest Hospitals

Summary

The US magazine "Newsweek" has once again named Heidelberg University Hospital (UKHD) as one of the best hospitals in the world. In the "World's Best Hospitals 2024" ranking, which is compiled in collaboration between "Newsweek" and the statistics and data platform "Statista", UKHD was ranked 15th out of 2,400 hospitals surveyed worldwide. In Germany, the UKHD is in second place, just behind Berlin's Charité.

"Heidelberg University Hospital's outstanding performance once again is proof of the professional excellence of all our employees and an expression of their admirable commitment day after day," says Professor Ingo Autenrieth, Chief Medical Director and Chairman of the Board at Heidelberg University Hospital. "It also underlines the innovative strength of the Faculty of Medicine at our university. Many pioneering therapies would be inconceivable without our successful scientists."

The assessment by newsweek is based on the opinions of experts from the healthcare sector, patient surveys and key performance indicators of the evaluated hospitals. Hospitals from 30 countries were compared in the ranking, including Germany, the United States of America, Canada, England and Switzerland. In total, more than 2,400 hospitals worldwide are included in the comparison.
