The Academic Centre for Complementary & Integrative Medicine (AZKIM) is a supra-regional association of physicians and scientists at the four university hospitals in Baden-Württemberg: Heidelberg, Freiburg, Tübingen and Ulm.

AZKIM has set itself the task of integrating complementary therapies based on sound scientific findings into holistic university medicine in line with the WHO Traditional Medicine Strategy 2025-2034. In the long term, this will promote the establishment of evidence-based integrative medicine, i.e., conventional medicine in harmony with complementary medicine, in Baden-Württemberg. This includes preventive measures as well as independent counseling services for patients and healthcare professionals. Treatment options are currently available primarily at the University Medical Centers in Freiburg (University Complementary Medicine Clinic) and Tübingen (Outpatient Clinic for Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine).
