AI Governance Board of Heidelberg University Hospital
The AI Governance Board of Heidelberg University Hospital is an interdisciplinary advisory body established in 2025. It supports all phases of the introduction, use, and further development of AI systems at the hospital.
The Board’s work focuses on legal, ethical, organizational, and data protection aspects. It develops guidelines and standards, assesses potential risks, supports evaluation processes, and contributes to a values-based, transparent, and responsible use of AI in day-to-day practice.
Composition
The Board consists of members from the following areas of the hospital’s administration:

- Center for Digitalization and Infrastructure (ZDI)
- Data Protection
- Compliance
- Human Resources Management
- Staff Council
- Risk Management
