Karl Jaspers Edition

To be able to unfold and honor the far-reaching context of the Jaspersian reasoning as it reveals itself from the printed materials, posthumous literary remains and the numerous exchanges of letters, a complete edition of his work is currently being prepared, which deduces all relevant texts in their context and makes them accessible as a systematically interrelated whole. Crucial for this achievement are in particular comments and collections of documents, which summarize the already known and pose new research questions.

The publication of the commented Karl Jaspers Edition (KJE) takes place in cooperation with the Karl Jaspers Foundation (Basel) via the research unit of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences located at the Philosophical Seminar and the Center of Psychosocial Medicine of the Heidelberg University.
