B06: ATF3 and IL-6 in inflammation-induced skin hyperplasia

Universitäts-Hautklinik Tübingen

Inflammatory skin diseases often result in acanthosis, which is promoted by chronic inflammation. IL-6 as pro-inflammatory cytokine is regulated by the transcription factor ATF3, which can directly promote cell proliferation via p53 repression. Comparing mouse models of skin hyperplasia, we aim to dissect under which conditions ATF3 either prevents or promotes skin hyperplasia.
