Our team of specialists provides consultation on infectious diseases and tropical medicine to all patients at Heidelberg University Hospital, with a particular focus on infections in the hospital (nosocomial), foreign body-associated infections, and opportunistic infections. We offer expert guidance on diagnostic and therapeutic issues and conduct interdisciplinary ward rounds. In selected wards we work in collaboration with the hospital pharmacy and microbiology department.

 

Most of our work takes place at the patient’s bedside. For patients outside of the hospital, we offer telephone consultations at Tel. +49 (0)6221-56-310204.

Our goal is to enhance the quality of care, optimize antimicrobial and diagnostic stewardship, and facilitate early outpatient treatment to reduce length of hospital stays.
