Section in the Medical Clinic for Gastroenterology, Infectiology and Poisoning

In our Section Infectiology we look after complex infectious disease cases in close cooperation with our colleagues and the nursery team of the Medical Clinic IV.

The Section' focus is on infections with pathogens that are difficult to treat and on infections in immunocompromised patients. This concerns, among other things co-infections with HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (out of the lungs), systemic fungal infections, Malaria or other serious infectious diseases or infections with multiresistant pathogens.

For the treatment of inhouse-patients outside the section Infectiology we offer our conciliatory service. Outpatients can use our general infection ambulance or the various special ambulances at our clinic or at Medical Clinic IV (e.g. tuberculosis, echinococcosis, viral hepatitis, post-COVID).
