Special consultation on rabies

It is only possible to contract this disease in Germany through the bite of bats, when traveling to rabies areas or through contact with unvaccinated pets illegally imported from rabies areas. Prophylactic and post-exposure rabies counseling is a task of the University Hospital, which is carried out by the Department of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine during normal opening hours. Outside the opening hours of our outpatient clinic, patients can contact the surgical emergency outpatient clinic.
