Nephropharmacological trials

Scope

Clinical trials as well as pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and statistical analyses are used to elucidate the influence of renal function on drugs as well as the influence of other cofactors. In addition, the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of immunosuppressants are investigated and methods for estimating renal function are analyzed and further developed. Clinical trials according to the German Drug Law (AMG) are performed in cooperation with KliPSnet and clinical partners.

Mission

Improving drug adherence in patients with kidney disease

Background

The safest and most effective use of a drug in patients with kidney disease requires knowledge of the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the drug in renal insufficiency, the influence of possible additional cofactors, and the individual patient's renal function.
