OUR PREMISES
With the exception of the patient rooms, all rooms and premises of our trial center, in which the study documentation, medication, equipment and samples are stored, are secured with electronic access control. The medical devices used are regularly checked and calibrated by the Medical Technology Department of the Heidelberg University Hospital and the respective equipment manufacturers.

Rooms and Equipment
- 2 patient rooms, each with 2 beds and en-suite bathroom, equipped for vital parameter monitoring including ECG and emergency care.
Laboratory/Storage Room
- Fully air-conditioned room with certified continuous temperature monitoring systems connected to the central alarm control and monitoring system of the Heidelberg University Hospital (24/7)
- Refrigerated centrifuge
- Refrigerators (+ 5 °C) and freezers (- 20 °C, - 80 °C) with continuous temperature monitoring systems connected to the central alarm control and monitoring system of the Heidelberg University Hospital
Emergency Care
The interdisciplinary Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (intensive and intermediate care units) is located in the basement of the building and can be rapidly reached by elevator for emergency care.
Connection to the accredited Central Laboratory of the Heidelberg University Hospital
The connection to the accredited UKHD Central Laboratory via pneumatic tube system ensures that laboratory samples are sent quickly and safely.
