Meike Irene Nakovics is a medical student and MD candidate at the University of Heidelberg and holds an awarded Bachelor degree in Economics and Business Education, University Mannheim and an awarded MSc in Computer Science, Swansea University. She is especially interested in Global Health with a focus on Health IT and Financing. Her main focus lays on Human-Computer Interaction, direct and indirect costs of illness as well as factors, which affect them. Therefore, she uses HCI methods, quality management, database systems, econometrics, and financial calculation concepts to optimize financial investments and health technology. She participated in the mobile health app project “Offload” of the Pressure Ulcer Prevention and Intervention Service at Morriston Hospital and Fujitsu Ltd. in Swansea, UK. Beyond this, she contributed to the "Medical Material Classification" system project of the University Medical Center Heidelberg with the aim to establish a medical orientated Medical-Product-Classification-Program with mapping on the keys for procedures based on the German Classification of Procedures in Medicine.
