A9: The role of IGFBPs/IGFBPrPs in the differentiation of extra-embryonic tissue

In this proposal we plan to investigate the role of Insulin-growth-factor-binding-protein-related-proteins (IGFBPrPs) in the restriction of pluripotency during differentiation of the extra-embryonic endoderm in the mouse. We will in particular analyze the role of IGFBPrPs in the regulation of TGF-β and Wnt signaling pathways. The interaction with these signaling cascades will be studied in mouse extra-embryonic cell lines and Xenopus embryos.
