B3: Role of Syndecan 4 and R-spondin 3 in the regulation of multipotent hematopoietic precursor fate

We previously showed that Rspo3 plays a critical role in the fate decision of multipotent precursor cells during embryonic vasculogenesis in Xenopus embryos. Our unpublished data indicate that the proteoglycan Syndecan 4 (Sdc4) functionally interacts with Rspo3 in Wnt signal transduction, suggesting that it may cooperate with Rspo3 in regulating multipotent hematopoietic precursor fate. Therefore we will address the role of Sdc4 in Rspo3 mediated vasculogenesis in Xenopus.
