EPIDEMIOLOGY OF TRANSITION
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our highly valued colleague Volker Winkler on 22nd of December 2025. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
In memoriam: Volker Winkler
The research group Epidemiology of Transition is broadly looking at health impacts and its determinants of people and populations facing major challenges or changes such as migration or ageing. Most of the research activities are focused on ‘Migrant Health’ and non-communicable diseases in low- and middle-income countries.
