Ahmed Asa'ad Al-Aghbari

PhD researcher

Ahmed Asa'ad Al-Aghbari, PharmD, is a highly accomplished researcher and advocate in the field of global health. His academic achievements include a Master of Science degree in Global Urban Health, where his thesis delved into the management of the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on case studies from Mexico, Colombia, and Nigeria. With a passion for tackling tropical diseases, Ahmed participated in the TDR internship program, researching the scientific evidence for eliminating visceral leishmaniasis in Nepal.

He further expanded his expertise by becoming a WHO-certified Infodemic Manager and a coach in various training programs, such as the WHO infodemic training series and the comprehensive training for promotion of vaccine demand. Currently, Ahmed is dedicated to conducting research on preparedness, response, disease control, Infodemic management, and access to healthcare in the context of COVID-19, particularly in fragile states. Alongside his research endeavors, he also founded the Tafteesh.AR initiative, a collaborative platform led by Yemeni academics, filmmakers, content creators, and artists, aimed at combatting misinformation and providing accurate health information. Ahmed's research vision focuses on critical public health issues, evidence-based practices, and the impact of infodemics on social behaviors and fragile health systems. His research includes social listening and conducting infodemic insight reports to further understand these phenomena.
