Maureen McGowan

Researcher and PhD student

Maureen McGowan is a PhD student and researcher at the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health. Her research interest lies in the development, design, and evaluation of HIV prevention interventions for which she utilizes implementation science and qualitative methodologies. She works closely together with researchers from the United States, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and South Africa on the design and evaluation of peer-delivered HIV prevention interventions. In addition to her work at the HIGH, she is also active with the Global Health Hub Germany for which she serves on the board of two teams: the Global Health & Migration Hub and the Women's Health Hub.
