Clinical research in neurology
Our activities focus on the development and implementation of innovative clinical trials. This gives our patients the opportunity to participate in medical progress at an early stage. In 2021, we conducted or managed 41 diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive studies. Over 1200 of our patients were treated in clinical trials (phase I-IV) in 2021.
Our medical staff are supported by a team of 12 study assistants in coordinating and conducting clinical trials in compliance with international, ethical and scientific standards and guidelines (AMG, ICH-GCP). The study assistant team ensures that our studies run smoothly, looks after and supports our patients throughout the study, coordinates diagnostics, laboratory, sample dispatch and trial medication, collects and documents all study-related data and manages the study-related documents.
All studies are coordinated in collaboration with the Clinical Coordination Centre (KKS) Heidelberg, the Institute of Medical Biometry and Informatics (Prof. Kieser) and/or the NCT Study Centre. We are currently developing a concept to consolidate the study structures of the key areas and to organise our study-specific processes in a standardised, uniform and effective manner (responsible: PD Dr. A. Wick).
