The "Vascular Neurology" section was established in the Department of Neurology on 1 October 2014.

The task and aim of this section is the clinical care of patients with neurovascular diseases at the highest level and the pooling of scientific activities in this field. This section thus ensures that the care concepts developed by Professor Hacke over the past decades are continued.

The section is an integral part of the Department of Neurology and the core of the Heidelberg Neurovascular Network.

Inpatients are mainly treated in the stroke unit, and there is also a neurovascular outpatient clinic.
