Wissenschaftlicher Werdegang

Eva Riechert was born in Munich, Germany, in 1988. She holds a B. Sc. in Molecular Biotechnology from the Technical University of Munich and a M.Sc in Life and Medical Sciences from the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University of Bonn.During her Master studies she performed research internships at the Harvard Medical School and at Bayer Healthcare, Wuppertal, Germany. In the course of her master thesis she worked on a lineage conversion from a murine embryonic fibroblast- to an extra-embryonic trophectoderm stem cell-like fate.

Eva joined the Völkers lab as a PhD student in September 2015. In her research she focusses on the molecular mechanisms of Proline-Rich Akt Substrate of 40 kDa (PRAS40) in the context of cardiac diseases.
